Aug 26-28, 2025: Math Teacher PD: Bringing Math Concepts to Life

Start the school year with the strategies, tools, and confidence your teachers need to make an immediate impact. The NYC Math Teacher Bootcamp is a hands-on, grade-specific professional development experience led by National Training Network’s expert math coaches. Each one-day session focuses on building deep conceptual understanding of core grade-level standards and translating that understanding into practical, ready-to-use classroom strategies. Teachers leave not only inspired, but also equipped with a class set of MathKEYmatics (25 students) and year-long on-demand PD access, including over 100 hours of targeted math content for continued growth.

Session Details

Grade 3 – Multiplication in Motion: Making Meaning with Models and Strategies
Bring multiplication to life through equal groups, arrays, and area models. Learn how to help students think flexibly, reason clearly, and multiply with confidence.
Standards: 3.NBT.3, 3.OA.5, 3.OA.7*

Grade 4 – Power in Place Value: Building Numbers and Multiplying with Meaning
Explore place value in depth to strengthen number sense and multiplication skills. Use visual models to connect understanding and accuracy.
Standards: 4.NBT.1, 4.NBT.2, 4.NBT.3, 4.NBT.5

Grade 5 – Place Value in Action: Multiplying Whole Numbers and Decimals with Confidence
Help students master multi-digit and decimal multiplication with conceptual clarity using concrete and visual strategies.
Standards: 5.NBT.3, 5.NBT.5, 5.NBT.7
