In this session teachers will explore strategies for helping students understand division as the inverse of multiplication and to solve real-world problems.  This session also focuses on fractions, emphasizing understanding fractions as numbers, representing fractions on a number line, and comparing fractions with like denominators. Teachers will learn methods for guiding students in identifying unit fractions, comparing them, and understanding the concept of equivalent fractions. The session will also include activities related to representing and interpreting data using fractions, further linking fraction concepts with data literacy. Throughout the session, there will be a strong emphasis on modeling and reasoning with fractions, where students will engage in solving complex problems and explaining their reasoning in relation to fractional concepts.
