In this session, participants will explore operations with integers—addition, subtraction, multiplication—using the Concrete-Pictorial-Verbal-Abstract (CPVA) approach. They will engage with manipulatives, visual models, and structured discussions to build a deep conceptual understanding before transitioning to abstract representations. The session will also delve briefly into solving two step equations, building on the understanding of integers. Participants will then engage in a modeling problem to support building student capacity to engage with modeling problems, using content strategies engaged with during the session.
